Seat belt pillow

Summer time means lots of fun, outdoor activities and travel. To make the nap time comfortable during long drives seat belt pillows are must have. My kid being a Thomas fan I made it Thomas themed( just sacrificed his outgrown t-shirt). Very simple way to comfort. Now I have demand in line for an Owl one.

To make one you need
2 fabric pieces of 27"*8" ( i used one Thomas T-shirt and one black T-shirt)
66" of coordinating ribbon around 3/8" thick
                    1 bag poly-fill

cut the ribbon into six equal pieces and arrange 3 pieces 8" apart on each side of the long fabric.

Stitch the 2 pieces together keeping right side facing inside. leave a small opening for filling it with Poly-fill.
Hand sew the opening and you are ready with a designer pillow.

Enjoy the Summer ride with happy well rested kids.

Handmade Rakhi

Rakhi festival is around the corner. Rakhi, a celebration of Brother sister bonding falls on the Full moon day of sharawan month. In olden times a simple sacred red thread was tied by sisters around brother's wrist and brother use to take oath to protect sister from all odd times.
As the time changes we see lot of fancy rakhis in the market targeting the kids favorite like Mickey mouse ,Doremon etc. Now more ecofriendly like teracotta rakhi or fresh flowers rakhi are also available.
Edible rakhi are also picking up the trend as there will be hardly any kid who won't like a chocolate rakhi.
I experimented with back to school theme rakhi and here is my collection

Hope you enjoyed this new theme. Please Leave comments and suggestion.

Happy Crafting!!!!
